When i was a kid and cell phones first came out only drug delaers and doctors have them. Now i know people who don't even have a land line only a cell. They were huge now i think i loose mine twice a week and it is in my pocket. They take pictures show videos i am just so shokced how they have come along
I thought i would never get one now i can't live with out it. i have had car trouble more than once at night and was so happy to have a phone. When i go to the store i can call my wife and make sure i get the right stuff if i forget the list and i allways forget the list. I use it to hook up with someone at a mall or something they have come a long way

I think you're absolutely right about how useful they are and how much we as a society have come to depend upon them.

That said, I find the increasing use of cell phone message sending annoying. Why spend 10 minutes typing a message with my thumb when the same message could be accomplished so much more quickly by voice? It seems like a backward step in technology.

I remember when they were the huge bulky ugly things, that had a gigantic battery packs.

Yes I remember! I also remember being amazed by automatic doors, Nintendo, and cordless phones.....L
