"Nutshell" by Alice In Chains is by far the saddest metal ballad of all time. It's in my top 10 favorite songs of all time. Great, great tune.

Every great nirvana song makes me wish kurt was still hear but he is! His legacy lives on! Nutshell is sad to. Another sad alice in chains song is down in a hole.
You listen to some gud musoic man!

Rape Me is pretty sad, but I think that All Apologies is a good one too. That song makes me think a lot. Nutshell is good, and Brother is also a sad song. When it's on Unplugged, it sounds so meaningful and deep, I love that song too.

The question is, is it Metallica's best metallic track. No. not something Else count's is a rock ballad. that is not metallic via any stretch of the mind's eye. Sanitarium, grasp of Puppets, or maybe St. Anger are some distance stronger metallic songs. My own selection is going with St. Anger.
