You can tell alot about a man's character by how he treats his family - and by how he deals with a crisis. Edwards fails on both.

I'm not an Edwards supporter, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I can't say what I would do if I was in his shoes, and I pray that I never have to find out.

As previous posts have suggested, I am sure they made the decision together. Besides, many people cope with something like this by immersing themselves in their work. Maybe this is the same for him. Maybe the time he spends in his campaign is time he doesn't have to spend thinking about his wife's condition. And maybe by him carrying on, that brings his wife some comfort as well.

Just because someone is ill does not mean the world will stop spinning.

If my mother were to die today I am betting that my university is not going to feel sorry for me if I don't go to class for a month and fail out.. The same usually goes with a job.

I had a summer job and a friend i worked with had her grandma pass away... She almost got fired because she already took three days off and her grandmother was not considered immediate family.

I pray Edwards can find a good doctor willing to risk a malpractice suit by trying to help his wife.

How is John being an inconsiderate pompass jerk? He had announced that he was putting his campaign on hold. He discussed it with her and she wanted him to go on with the campaign. How is that being egotistical? Just because Ann Coulter is jealous she can't get a man (who would date that horse face bi*ch?) doesn't mean she should be impolite and make untrue accusations and assumptions about something of which she knows nothing ?

I do believe that he said he would not run if his wife was not given a clean bill of help. It is really great to see where John's priorities are here. He was an ambulance chaser as a lawyer and he has just as much class as a politican.

The decision was made by the FAMILY to continue. She made her opinion known to her husband and he respects it.

Face the facts....politics is a BUSINESS.
Business does NOT stop because of sickness!

They stop only for 3 days for immediate family for a funeral!

Did YOU care when my father died of Cancer??!!

Did you even pay attention to the press conference? His wife WANTS him to run. They have a good marriage and he will be there for her. The fact that he was willing to drop out and she encouraged him to run says a lot about her character, which is more than I can say for yours.

i think watching the video and reading the reports should come before you posting questions like this, but as you can see, i dont get what i want either. he stated in the press conference that if she needed his help or began more sick, he would stop what he was doing on the spot and take care of her. she herself would not allow him to drop out of the race.

It was her decision because she said she did not want to sit in bed and feel sorry for herself. Makes a great republican talking point tough.
