I'm no MAC lover or enthusiast, however, the dual quad G5 series are generally considered te most powerful home PCs right now.

If by best you mean "most powerful", then IBM's BlueGene/L would be the answer. It whizzes through data at 360 teraflops. The average up-to-date home computer struggles to make it to 10 gigaflops, which is a mere 0.10 teraflops!
In general terms, this question has no right or wrong answer. Some would argue that portability or design is the biggest issue for the "best", where others could care less about design and judge a computer by it's power and performance.
It's like asking "What is the best car in the world?".
I personally would say one that is the most fuel efficient, but many others would say that it is the fastest one.

I've worked with Macs all my life... but I also decided to study architecture in college. Macs dont run some of the better architectural programs, so I was seriously dreading the day I had go out and buy a PC... but then Apple added the Intel processor. This saved my life. I could run all my mac stuff on the same computer that ran all my architecture stuff!! Best computer in the world? Probably not, but then again, probably not that far, either.

The Best Computer in the world is probably one used by NASA as they use very high end computers but not a Dell.

Top Supercomputer Sites since 1993
The ranking is determined using the average of the sum of the Rmax share of every site in every list since 1993. For example:
Total Rmax in 1993 was 1.12 TFlops and Los Alamos National Laboratory had a total of 7 systems with a combined Rmax of 86.34 GFlops, thus, the share of LANL for June 1993 would be approx. 0.077. We then add those shares per site and rank the sites using the sum of the shares divided by the number of lists.

Human brain is the greatest computer. IT does the functions of a computer. A man-made computer is just a computer made from super brains. If you are dumb your brain maybe worse than of these man-made computers. No machine can beat human brain even after millions of years...
I guess you can't produce something that can beat the gods creation.

A computer that's not a dell. Dell has the worst tech support ever and they have crappy systems. I hate our dell. And I'm not the only one that thinks this, I have a long list of people that have had nothing but problems with dell.

The best computer is one that works for you and is not a pain in the neck, old new or in-between.
