Those that know how to sell products and out sell competitors. Any profit can be profitable if they use the right marketing mix, provide customers with products that they want, target the correct market and try to increase their brand image.
Technology companies can make a lot of profit as they have the chance to make money by releasing products that people will definitely want. Microsoft and Nintendo etc are very profitable.
Diversification also helps businesses. Take Virgin for example they have many products in many markets such as music, travel, drink etc.
