While South Africa are hot favourites to win the world cup, since cricket is a game of uncertainties, nothing can be predicted for sure at this stage. It will be purely dependent upon the performance of all the 8 teams entering the Super 8. Whichever teams plays consistently well will be the ultimate winners.

South Africa stands 1st in ranking after winning first two matches in WC and Australia is second now ..They are very strong candidate for this world cup...and if they could not manage to get this world cup, it would be their hard luck only ! otherwise keeping their performance in view they deserve the cup this time !! NewZealand is second most important competitor of Australia which they should be aware of ! Australia is not going to win the title that easily this time . they will have to put all their the effort !but anyway.....I want to see South Africa or NewZealand winning the title this year !

The chances are getting better after each match.
I keep my fingers crossed for the S.A. team.
We'll see, after the match results tomorrow. Because I see Australia vs South Africa the most exciting match.

i think west indies is a better option to compete with australia not south africa coz cricket is a game of chance and SA will not remain no 1 anymore this world cup

I think they are being underrated. They haven't just climbed to number one, they've done it from the bottom of the rankings and that's an even greater achievement. Australia are slipping and SA are getting better and better.

hmm this question keeps coming up here every now and then....i think that south africa have a great chance of winning, but i do believe australia is most likely to win.
new zealand also have a chance.
