Funnily enougth the worst way to give birth is on your back, in what they call the 'stranded beetle' position, with your legs in the air. It's completely unnatural and works against gravity, you actually have to push your baby up and round a corner to give birth in this position.
The most natural ways are on all fours, which also reduces the risk of back labour, helping baby into optimum position; or squatting, which opens your pelvis and gives the baby lots of room whilst also utilising gravity. On all fours is shown to reduce the risk of tearing as the pressure on the perineum is vastly reduced.
I gave birth to my daughter in a squatting position, resting my elbows behind me on the sofa in her bedroom. I threw my head back to push and this worked well for me, I only pushed for about nine minutes and she was born, she wasn't big at 7lb4.5oz but I suffered no tears, and she was my first baby.
It's good that you are researching positions for labour, it helps to be prepared. There are many good sites which can help you there are some links for you below. There are also details on props such as birth stools, birth pools, birth balls etc which can help you!
Good luck giving birth is wonderful!

It's best for some people who are giving birth to try and put your body in different positions then that way you will find a good Position to be in If your happy with that certain Position you are in you may choose to give birth in that positio. I'm not a mum myself as yet but I do hope to have a baby at some point in my life. Just not yet as I m not ready to have sex. But when the time feels right I really do hope to have a little boy. Infact I hope to have two boys and a baby girl. But that all depends on what God blesses you with. As long as the baby or baby's are happy and healthy that's all that really matter's 🙂. Take care of both yourself and your baby and enjoy what God has given you in life.👨❤️💋👨

Usually doctors have u lying on your back with your feet in stirrups...this is a comfortable position and good for delivery..The BEST position for giving birth vaginally is "squatting" like you are going to the bathroom but your bottom is off the floor...this is said to be thes best for mother and baby, helps to prevent tearing and pushes the baby out quicker and more effectively...Speak to your doctor and ask about your options..Good Luck!

In the hospital you are limited. They want you on your back or side. If you are using a birthing center with midwives, the best is on a birthing stool. It is a wonderful thing and lets graivty take over. It puts less pressure on you and the baby and it also allows your partner to be right behind you holding you and helping you through it. My aunt did this and it was wonderful and very personal.

There are several different ways to do it. You can have a c-section, you can do it naturally, you can opt for a water birth. Usually you're on your back but with a water birth you're sitting down on your bum.
