It's just a name and as the matches are sold in England 'England's Glory' is the way they are marketed. In France they could be 'La Gloire de France'. In Germany, 'Deutsche Ruhm.' and so on. Go to London and look around the souvenir shops for a typical London souvenir and you'll find they're all made in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

They used to be made in GB a 1000 years ago but I suppose they were bought out , and any way the Swedes are a nice bunch of people and they make very good matches for all sorts of people. Oh and it is just a trade mark.

I didn't know you could still buy them! I only ever see those brown cooks matches that break when you strike them or Swann matches that are so short you burn your fingers when trying to light something. Clippers rule!
