How has it come to be that shoe repairs, key cutting and dry-cleanings services are always found in same shop?

Is this just a UK phenomenon. Why are these seemingly disparate services provided by the same provider everywhere?

All three are convenience services that are often grouped together in hotels, apartment buildings, colleges and universities. These services are in great demand and require minimal space. (Dry-cleaning is usually sent out).

Since each service alone is not enough to support a business, they are grouped together.

Because I found that I could not make enough maoney to support me and my family by operating as a shoe reparer. I now cut keys, take in dry cleaning, sell newspapers, stock, sell and repair leather goods and when I have time ot spare take a sweeping brush and clean the floor. It is called working for a living.
