About 2-3 years ago I fell while I was snowboarding. I didn't fall very hard but the very next day it hurt to sit in the hard chairs at school. Ever since then every now and then it hurts just the same. Did I fracture the bone? What can I do?

Even if you broke your tailbone there is nothing they can do for that, What usually happens though is you get a form of arthritis in it which will flair up from time to time, You can go to doctor and get an x-ray and an MRI, Just for them to be able to offer you an anti-inflammatory. Been there done that fifteen years ago

You may not have fractured the bone, but it sounds like you could have bruised it and that can cause it to hurt. Many people have problems with their tailbones after hurting them. Sometimes I get an ache in mine (I broke it really badly a year or so ago). You should talk to your doctor to see if there is anything you can do besides ice it and take ibuprofen. You may unfortunately have to deal with the pain because besides having it removed I don't think there is much they can do for it. I don't recommend having your tailbone removed either- it's a really painful surgery. Good luck!
