Is it ever possible for a man to be platonic friends with a very attractive woman?

Yes, gay men do it all the time. How they do it is beyond me. Maybe that's why I'm not gay. Sometimes I wish I was gay, just to simply know what it was like to not be so lustful of the female body. Conversation would be a little different then.

For straight men, it would be hard. I mean, the first feeling man will have is sexual attraction. The very first words spoken between them will be biased by this attraction. Psychology majors can attest that everything we do or say is to achieve sex and security, so the man will have to make these primal urges benign BEFORE engaging in conversation that would be considered platonicly freindly(if you will). I only see gay men being able to achieve this, unless the man is so Jesus-like that he can set sex and security aside. Impossible for me. Read my bio, I'm a scorpio, babe. Sure, I'll be your friend..... ; )

I was never able to pull it off, but it may be possible even for a straight man somewhere in this world.

EDIT: I take that back, I did it once because her boyfriend (a mutual friend) was away on military duty. So we went out a bunch of times without me thinking about anything else. But if she had been available no chance. Dark eyed Italian with an incredible face and bod......

I think it is possible.. I have had male friends that remained platonic friends for a very long time now.

Of course it is...the problem is other people. They let perceptions & rumors run rampant, & then ruin the friendship!
