The light bleeding could have been implantation bleeding. Your friend needs to take a test and see a doctor, this is some of the most critical times for her baby's development.
Best of luck.

A couple of things:
Pills make some people sick the first couple of months they are taking them.
Some pills will almost eliminate your period, although she must have gotten at least a very light short period since they don't eliminate the period at all.
If she had her period after the unprotected sexual encounter, she could be clear, BUT pills are only 98% reliable, so she could definitely be pregnant even if she is on the pill and hasn't miss one.
What to do ? Buy a Home Pregnancy Test ( in drugstore)
Make an appointment with doctor to discuss her period fluctuation even if she is not pregnant.
Good luck to your friend. I hope all works out.

It is possible to have a "mock period". I was unclear as to if she missed one pill during the first month she was taking it? And that is when they had unprotected sex? The pill should not be the only form a birth control used during the first 30 days of taking the pill. Have her take a home pregnancy test. It would be positive by now if she is pregnant.

Sounds liek she is. Same thing happened to me. I had just started taking birth control for like a month or month and a half, i missed some of it and became pregnant and then i stayed off the birth control because i was pregnant and it would hurt the baby. When youve been on it for less than 3 months, you have to use condoms too, because the hormone in the pill has to be in your system for it to work 100% effectively. She very well could be pregnant, she wasnt on the birth control long enough for it to be completely trust worthy.

Fist and formost to the person who said if she had her peiod ahe wasnt pg. That is way untrue. SOme women have light periods or spotting the whole way through. So you can for a fact have aperiod and still be pg. SHe has to go to the dr. If she is 12 weeks she has to start prenatal care!!!!!! Go with her and find out. Its so important!! BUt remember too the pill is what regulates you to a monthly period going on and off it could have really messed up her cycle. I wasno on the pill for about 9 months at one time and i had 1 period. No matter what take a test go to the dr...... Tell her good luck!!

You can have your period and still be pregnant. ALot of women have a period the first 3-5 months and theres nothing wrong. But she really needs to go to the DR. because even if she wouldnt have missed a pill she could still get pregnant because the pill has to build up in your system before it actually protects you. But for her to miss her period for 12 weeks she needs to see the Dr one way or the other because theres something wrong even if she isnt pregnant. So tell her to get to the Dr. its very important that she does this as soon as she can. I didnt go to the Dr. until I was 10 weeks...and my Dr was so mad at me for waiting so long. Good Luck

You can still be pregnant and have your period although its uncommon. My sister-in-laws friend had her period (light though) into her fourth month. Have her take a test. If shes not pregnant, dont be too disappointed. Maybe she doesnt want kids right now. I want my sister to have kids (I have one and so far shes the only grandchild and I'd like her to have some cousins) but I'm not disappointed that she hasnt had any yet. I'm actually happy for her because she just doesn't want to be a mother right now. She's happy that she's hasn't gotten pregnant yet so I'm happy for her too.

when your on the pill and you miss one you are supposed to take is as soon as you remember. Than sense she took the pill (Most likely) closer to when she takes her next pill. This causes her hormones to go crazy and can make her very sick. I was on the pill for years and had missed taking my pill lots of times and when I had to catch up again, I always got very sick. Once her body got out of whack with her hormones her period will act wacky its self. It should come again when she is due again. She shouldn't worry!!!
Now about you......................
YOU NEED to care a little more about what she wants and not about yourself and how you want a pregnancy buddy!! Andy she is your best friend???
then you ask, "Can I please get real answers this is very important to me?"
what is more important her life, her happiness, or just that you want to know for your own happiness.
Sorry to sound rude... but, it sounded rude what you said.
Hope I helped her with her question.

She could be pregnant. It's extremely important for her to see a doctor because the hormones in birth control pills can make the pregnancy non-viable.

She definately needs to take a test/go to the doctor. Especially if she is continuing to take the bc pills, if she is pregnant, they could harm the baby.
And you can have your period during your pregnancy, I had mine the entire time.
