She is extremely defensive about the slightest thing, but I can't deal with her smell any longer. And she has the nerve to keep telling me about some co-worker that smells bad! What can I say to her without being harsh?

She has plenty of bath and body works products and tons of perfume, I think this is more of a feminine hygene problem! And I need some suggestions of WHAT to say!

You could start off saying "We're very good friends and can tell each other anything, right? If I had a pimple on my chin, you'd tell me right? You could say that you had noticed that her body odor was strong lately and you didn't know if she had changed soaps or deodorants and you wanted to let her know it wasn't working before someone else did in a not-so-friendly way" tell her that you use "?" and would be glad to loan her some to see if it works for her before she buys anything new. Good luck and God Bless.

I would buy her some feminine hygene products (disposable douche, spray, wipes), put it in a nice gift bag. Invite her to coffee bring the gift. Tell her that you are her friend a real friend and that is why you feel the need to talk with her about a sensitive subject. Tell her that you have noticed a 'feminine' smell when near her and you do not want other to talk behind her back so you would rather her hear it from a friend. Say "I have you a few products I like to use to avoid "THAT" smell and I thought you'd like to try them. I really don't want to hurt your feelings but if it were me I'd want a true friend to tell me." If she is a good friend she'll be glad you told her, even if she gets mad she'll realize you are a good friend and won't stay mad long. Good luck.

They best thing is honesty, even when the truth hurts. Start lil with a body wash gift, woman like poofy good smelly stuff. Maybe she doesnt have money to have nice smelling things. If this still doesn't work start telling her about what you do to smell so good, like "I love taking a shower in the evening, because it helps me sleep at nite." Or just give her some beauty tips. If all this doesnt work just tell her, listen I have tried to tell you this for a while and your just not getting my hints, you need to do something about your higeyne. Others find you to be offensive and I know I would want you to tell me if I needed a lil work on my higeyne! Trust me if I smelled, I would want my friend to tell me rather than someone else! Just trust even if she gets mad at first, shes female, we all get over it at some point.

Dont tell any thing to her just give her one nice lady perfume bottle she will get your point easily by this way and she also cant say no for your gift because i think most of the girls like this type of gift. If she steel feel bad tell her a fact but remember dont hasitate on that time i am sure she will understand what do you want to say because this is good for her only.

You could try body wash gift baskets or as a gift or if you are that close in your friendship that you can say anything, then tell her the truth.
I too have been in this situation, but it wasn't smell, my best friend had really bad breath. At least we were close enough I could tell her even though it was so hard for me to tell her.

As a friend you definitely need to tell her. Maybe you can ask her for some hygiene tips to delicately open the floor and then just share some info with her.

If you feel comfortable, bring it up really gently and just say you've noticed and thought she's appreciate if you let her know. Buy her some perfume (I know that only masks the smell, but she might appreciate it)
