I've found out I'm pregnant and don't have medical insurance so I am applying for Medicaid. I got the proof of pregnancy form and am currently filling out the application. I'm not married but my boyfriend and I have been together for 3 years. Should I put him on my application or just say I'm by myself? Will they deny me Medicaid since I live with him? What should I do?

How I live my life is absolutely none of your business, I did not ask for you to judge my life. If you can't answer my question, then go preach to someone else.

If you are not married he DOES NOT have to be on the application. You are considered a single parent. I was told this for WIC and for Healthy Families. He doesnt have to be added on there

It depends on where you live. Some states will make him pay child support since you aren't married. The child support is supposed to cover your medical coverage. I have a friend who's boyfriend did not have to pay support, they were in Michigan and Texas and on Medicaid. I would say be honest, if the both of you are living together claim him. (But you two may make too much money if you both work, to qualify for medicaid)
If you are not living together then just claim yourself.

U can put him down...It wont affect anything unless he makes a crap load of money that is not in the range for the medicaid. They say put everyone in the home even if u are not applying for them...before me and my hubby were wed i put him down for 2 of my pregnancies for medicaid and they approved me with noi problem..They are more concerned with that babys well being and u getting prenatal care then who lives with you...good luck and congrats!!!
p.s dont worry about other ignorant peoples comments on here,if u can and need the medicaid, its there for your health and your baby, not for them...=)

I agree with pharmacy. Don't lie on an application like that. You could never get medical help/government help every again if they find out the truth. Just call your caseworker, and ask her this question. They are there for you.

as long as you dont make more than a certain amount of money you should qualify. You should apply for the PE medi-cal. Just go to medi-cal.ca.gov and you should be able to apply or get a number to call. It is simple and well worth it!

don't ever lie about it, they would pursue him for the funds.put him down as part of the household, you shouldn't get denied unless he makes a LOT of money, they pretty much accept everyone

First of all having sex & getting pregent before marriage or without marrige seems illegal to me, no matter if your lover is staying with you sich a long time. I think you should get married soon, & then fill the form & in the form put in his name which is must in most of the countries. As am sure none of the countries support sex & baby without marriage.
Rest is upto you.
