Well sheep eyeballs are pretty weird, also squid or calamari is pretty weird and I certainly think quail eggs are weird. Frog legs are weird and so is menudo, fried insects of any sort, as well as haggis which is the lining from a sheep's stomach cooked. Also fried fish with the head attached, that was at a buffet. Poi is also very weird, a Hawai'ian dish that tastes like wallpaper paste.

I guess the weirdest thing is something involving a cow's brain. I forgot the name but I remember I had it once.

Julia Childs made this dish where a smallish fish (about 3-4 inches) was gutted and scaled, and then, get this, she folded the tail up through the gut slit and out the fish's mouth and cooked it like that. Then, she plated it by setting it on a platter with other fish in the same condition so that when you looked at it, there were a bunch of little fish staring at you with their tails sticking out of their mouths. Weird.

A friend of mine baked me a cake. She always went around boasting about her cooking skills, so I figured this was going to be good. But when she brought the cake, the icing was this purplish-gray ooze covered with a mountain of hideous multicolored sprinkles. It was also studded with tiny marshmallows that kept falling off. Inside, the cake was filled with blood-red Jello, and the cake itself was some weird shade of orange. It looked like something out of a monster movie, and tasted awful.

My wife and I saw fried waterbug or fried scorpions at a Thai street vendor's stall (Banglamphu). I ate a fried black scorpion just for the hell of it, - it just tasted like a shrimp chip. Good with beer, but you have to think about other things while you eat it.
