My little guy was born at 7lbs 5oz. He went through 2 bags of newborn diapers (7-10lbs) and then went to a size 1 (8-12lbs) He's 5 weeks now and is still in his size 1 diapers. He just got to 10lbs on Monday. I'd imagine he'll go through at least one more bag of size 1 diapers. My suggestion for now is to buy 2 newborn and 2 size 1 bags then 2 size 2 bags then stock up on the 3s. My other son who was born at 8lbs 13oz went through 1 newborn bag, 2 size 1 bags, 2 size 2 bags and then stayed in 3s for quite some time.

newborn, and LOADS. i'm 33 weeks gone, and i have about 90 of them! at first the baby can go thru as many as 12 a day!! so, unless u have sum1 that'll run to the shops for a while for u, i suggest u get loads. just keep the reciepts, so if u end up with more than u need cuz ur baby's grown out of them, u can exchange then 4 a bigger size!
i kno a 2 month old that is still in newborn nappies, so...i guess it depends on how quickly the baby grows as 2 how many u really need

I bought natural nappies for my latest and I got them from a company on the net called "totsbots" and they do size one which is from birth to around 6 months and then stage 2 which will last til toddler and potty training age.
I got a pack of 15 nappies with liners and waterproof covers and thats all I needed and my little one is now 7 months. They are excellent quality and so very soft, tumble drier friendly too which helped during this winter.
The good thing about them too is that they hold their value so you can sell them on and get the second stage once baby is bigger.

Buy the second size- your child will be in them a LOT longer than the newborn size. Another good option- charge admission at your baby shower. This is what I did for my best friends shower. Each person has to bring a pack of good diapers. Simply put a size prefrence on the invitaiton. My best friend ended up with several months worth of diapers that way.

You never know how big is your baby gonna be. My girl was born 4kg and 260gr (about 9 pounds). All her newborn clothers didn't last more than 5 weeks and same with nappies. My personal advice just get size 2 nad more of size 3. I agree above (don't remember who) to ask people invited to babyshower to bring along with them some.
Best wishes

I needed about 3 packs of newborn/premie diapers ( my daughter only weighed 6 lbs.) and a some ones. Don't invest alot of $$$ in size 2, they outgrow that stage quite quickly. The most I've used in a size were 3's!
Congrats!

buy newborn huggies size 1 - from 6lbs to 11lbs should cover for the first few weeks I would estimate that you would need about 4 packets of this size.

My son is 13 weeks and is onto size 3 from 11lbs up. I usually go through a large packet a week.

Next size up from newborn fits most babies. If your baby is really small, all hospitals have nappies and the hospital shops will sell them too. Brand names like Pampers and Huggies are the best... cheaper ones are a false economy.

Stick your feet up as much as you can at this stage.......
and Good luck..... x

Just buy one or two cases of sizes NB, 1 & 2. You can start stocking up on size threes.

Babies grow so fast that it's not long before they've outgrown NB - size 2.

They spend a longer time in size three diapers.

I would stock up on sizes 2 and 3 mainly. If you have a baby shower you will hopefully get lots of size 1.
