I was just wondering what colors and ect. can the mucus plug look like and does it have to all come out at the same time. Because i think mine has been coming out in bits. Any advice?

It looks like snot that can be tinged with a little blood. It means you're starting to efface and dilate. If you're already full term and want to go into labor wide hip circles and squatting leaning slightly over your stomach can speed things up for you. Best of luck.

Ok, the mucus plug is definatly nothing pretty. It is firm, snotty and can be a number of colors. Mine was brownish and streaked with rust colored mucus. Mine came out all at once, but my sisters came in bits. If you think you lost it labor is not far away. Go see your doc and make sure that was the plug and you are not passing blod clots. Goodluck!

It looks pale, slightly pale-pink in color, a little translucent.
It can come out in bits. My guess is it is about as big as a medium cotton ball soaked in water. The bits or even the complete mucus plug can come out and you might not know. Like in the shower, your tummy might block the view of "downtown" :-)
Advice: is just something that can happen in the last few weeks of pregnancy. My doctor said don't call me if it happens, may be call your husband :-) And don't worry if it doesn't happen too.

It looks like snot or the mucus you cough up when you're sick. It's usually white, clear, yellowish, or greenish. And yes, it can come out in bits. Also, labor probably isn't very close. Unless it is blood-tinged, then labor is about 24-48 hours away. Good Luck!

It can be clear or slightly pink, it can also come out in a chunk olf mucus or slimy stringy over several days. With my last two babies I had the chunk this time I have been having the several day nethod.

Its pretty nasty! Mine came out in the shower and its about the same consistency of phlem or snot!
