if im going to do the food what will i need to do & do you need insurance cover

As a party organizer you would be hiring a caterer I would think. I don't know that organizers actually do their own stuff like that. That's the point of being an organizer, not caterer. I would also think you would need to start getting business connections with people like caterers, party stores, clowns, flower shops, children's organizations, places to have the parties, etc. And if you are working for yourself you are going to want insurance. If something goes wrong your responsible so you definitely want that. You'll want a portfolio to show prospective clients what you can do for them. I'm a little curious why the only thing you mentioned you've done so far is gotten a back round check. This is odd to me. You shouldn't need that anyway since the parents are always there at the party's, and your not working for anyone but yourself (not a school or social services). Why only kids parties and not just be a party planner in general? Because THAT is suspicious to me. If it's parties you like why is it just children's parties? That's weird.

you will need basic hygeine certificate, liability insurance, if cooking at home that will need a business certificate. You are also going to need a tremendous sense of humour

yes you need insurance cover.
also remember the adult to kid ratio depending on age.
you have the same restrictions as a child care facility you need to look them up.
