Am I racist if i dont feel bad?

Question

due to all the past injustice my people have faced I never feel bad when ever i hear about blacks who kill rape or be racist to whites.

now dont get me wrong I dont encurage it in anyway I just dont care when i hear about it.

to me it feels like pay back to all the whites who did horrible things to blacks and then say "GET OVER IT, IT WAS SO LONG AGO."

in my oponion the whites of the past made their bed and the whites of the present are going to lie in it.

I WOULD FEEL SORRY if it happend to a white person I knew but if I didnt know them then I wouldn't care much

so what do you think?

to counter your post even though my family has never poped a cap in someones *** or done along those lines i still get harrased when ever I go to a store because just because im black they assume im up to no good. it pisses me off but I dont go around doing the same to whites all im saying is that i feel it is pay back because people like me who suffered for something I was not involved in causes others like yourself to suffer even though your family had nothing to do with slavery.

Sorry to break it to you, that's racist. you don't care about BLACKS doing horrible things to WHITES because of what may happened 100 + years ago. ...

If there were no black and white in that sentence above, you would just be sadistic and cruel, but put those words in and you segregate races apart from one another.

First of all, I am white and I am racist towards some...... I work for a high-end company and deal with a lot of different people, white, black, indians, oriental,etc. I have no problems with anyone as long as they can respect me for who I am and they don't act stupid.... when I say I am racist, it's when you see a black guy on the street dressed like a freekin' idiot, and act like he owns the world but doesn't have a job but has gold teeth! you know where I'm going with this.

Second, you should forget about the past and move on, consider yourself lucky that black people are no longer slaves. It is now a free country and everybody should be treated equaly.

So if you are black and act like a normal person, I like you very much, or even, if you are white and live in a trailer (not because you have a sh...it load of hospital bills) but because you are on crack and your kids don't have food, then in this case I hate you! And you should probably get raped by a black guy that will spend the rest of his life in jail!

Do you get my point? I forgot to mention... 10 years ago, the town right next to the one I live in still had a sign that said no blacks allowed, today the sign is goneand it's half black and half white and everybody gets along really well.

My question to you is how do you feel when a white person talks to you and treats with respect? If you desrve respect of course.

Or if you have kids what do you say to them if her or his best friend is white?

You know, your question really upsets me! I don't hate anyone and if white people hated blacks, well that was before I was here so I don't need to take **** from any of them!

Not all white people were involved with slavery.
And not all blacks were slaves.

I see a lot of hurt and anger in your responses to some of the answers you received to your questions.
First you asked the questions. Sounds like most of these people are giving you their honest opinions.
Please do not get angry because you did not get the answers you wanted.

I personally had been teased horribly throughout school.
I would never ever tease to hurt because I know how that feels.

I think that's the problem with things today is that too many people don't care what happens to their fellow human beings, so long as it's at a remove and doesn't touch upon them personally. This is the reason we yawn when there's brutal dictators in far off countries committing mass atrocities.

Whenever an innocent person is brutally murdered by an evil person, that's the only way I think of looking at it. I really don't care whether the murderer was black and the victim was white. That certainly isn't any excuse.

It's very strange that you feel that an evil act is actually 'payback' in some form for something that happened to your ancestors. If I were you I'd be worried about how this impulse got programmed into you.

Evil is evil, no matter what skin color you are, and as long as you're willing to say 'well it's not quite *as* evil, if the victim is white' then you're fostering racism and intolerance.

Yes, that would make you a racist. "Pay back to all the whites who did horrible things to blacks" was the kicker. To me it sounds like justification for the simple minded. We're no longer living in that era. We're now in an era were diversity is more accepted. If you cannot learn to accept your history and move on, then you're more racist than you know. Every moral person with a heart will feel bad if people of any race are raped or murdered.

Unfortunately, thats the way white people feel too, probably because they are tired of hearing about how things were in the past.

This isn't the past, and the future is what we make it. If we continue living in the past, then we'll never get over it. Maybe your great grandpa was a slave, and maybe the white guy next door is the great grandkid of your great grandpas owner. Who cares. The white guy next door doesn't own you, and didn't have anything to do with what happened back then, so he doesn't owe you anything.

Get over it. People are people regardless of their skin color. Start seeing people for who they are. Appreciate someone for their intelligence, or their body type, or their skills, don't dislike them simply because they're a different color than you.

Yes, you're racist, because you have stereotyped all white people for what happened in the past. How does it feel to you when a cop pulls over a black man in a Cadillac simply because hes in a Cadillac. Or when a white person says all blacks are inbred, eat fried chicken and watermelon, live in the projects and get welfare and food stamps.

Grow up. I have friends of all different race, and if something happened to them, I'd feel sorry for them, not because of their race or background, but because they were my friend.

Yes, you are racist, but everyone is a little bit. As a human being, it is ideal to empathize with all people regardless of color, sexual orientation or whatever. You'd feel devasted if someone killed or raped your mother, right? Well, people of all colors feel the same way. You should not judge people on the actions of their ancestors. Recently, a 14 month old black boy was shot in a drive-by shooting in Saginaw, MI. I am white and hispanic, and regardless of that, I was absolutely horrified and saddened by that. Violence is terrible and when you become indifferent toward it, you are part of the problem.

Sorry but you are racist. When anyone is murdered no matter what color it is bad. How can you look at it as "pay back"? Every white peron alive doesn't feel that we should get over slavery even though a lot do. The white people in the past have nothing to do with the ones that are here now. However, it does make me angry when they say "get over it it was hundreds of years ago" because they just don't understand how horrible things were because their ancestors were not the ones going through slavery. But you can't be mad at all white people now who never have owned a slave but one of their ancestors MIGHT have owned slaves.

hmmmm a toughie, I think it is horrible with what happened during the days of slavery, however it is crazy to think that the African Chiefs sold his people into slavery. Some how that always gets over looked. I am Caucasian and I hate the fact that because of what happened to African Americans in the past that they are given an advantage in schools, work etc. I was passed up for being a police officer because there were not enough minorities in our class. I sometimes feel that African Americans bring it on themselves. They don't just rape and kill whites, they rape and kill there own culture, sell drugs to there own people. Degrade there women, it's frustrating because I want to be someone who looks at everyone as an equal, but the stats prove differently. The stereotypes drive me crazy. I find African American woman for the most part to be absolutely beautiful, but if I was to date one out in public, the ridicule I would get not only from other African Americans, but from my own people!!!
