hi , me and my husband are trying for a baby and my periods are irregular ,so my told told me take clomid which i suppose to start from today ,i want to know while taking clomid we should not have sex ?after which day we have to start having sex on clomid ?plz help me.thakns in advance.

Hi sweetie, I don't know your exact condition, as I'm not a doctor, but I took clomid myself and I was taking it from day 3 of my period to day 7 of my period but mine is like clock. I don't know why your doctor would give you a drug for ovulation,unless he gave you something to start your period as well.Basically when you're taking clomid it should be during your period so you wouldn't be able to have sex, you should then have sex around your ovulation.I'd recommend you to call your doctors office and let them know that you didn't start your period and that you are to take clomid.I hope you'll get pregnant soon, we're TTC 2 years now and we're going to fertility clinic for IUI,because no luck yet.I took clomid 6 months,but it didn't help.

You can totally continue relations even before ovulatoin with clomid. You should ovulate 5-9 days after your last dose of clomid. So, you should begin having sex around 3 days after your last dose to (every other day should be enough) to have the best chances of conception. Good luck!!

Clomid helps to stimulate the hormones that cause you to ovulate, so you don't ovulate immediately after taking it. Clomid is usually taken on days 3-7 or 5-9 of your cycle. Most women ovulate around day 14 of their cycle. However, the Clomid can cause you to ovulate earlier. You can have sex while taking Clomid, but chances are you aren't going to get pregnant because you have to wait until you ovulate to conceive. My OB advised me to have sex every other day from days 10-20 of my cycle because I would most likely ovulate during that time. Sperm generally live for 2 days and men need about 36-48 hours for their sperm count to rebuild, so it's not necessary to have sex everyday. I have conceived 3 times on Clomid. Best of luck to you.

My dr always told me its ok to have sex while taking the Clomid. But when TTC you should start having sex every other day for a week 5 days after your last Clomid pill. Good luck!

I have been prescribe clomid as well
I have ask my doc the same ? the point is after clomid you will probably ovulate between the 5th to 9 th day after taken you last pill, my advise is for you to start having sex regularly after your last pill at every 2 days and also it will be good if you can buy an ovulation monitor

You should take the clomid days 5-9 of your cycle and do the deed from cycle day 12-19. or longer depending on you cycle lenghth. i have read that taking Clomid can regulate your ovulation cycle to a 30 day cycle or keep it at the 28 day cycle, i hope this helps.
