I hope someday the polarization in this country between the two parties, as is displayed in quite some detail here in the archives of Y!A, can be put aside for a second on issues such as abortion and stem cell research so that we can focus on the task at hand. This war.

Some want withdrawl, some want us to stay, some just want something to be accomplished. Thats where im at, I just want this country to regain its good name as the beacon of freedom and democracy in the world, I want us to win this war but that doesnt necessarily mean eradicating the enemy necessarily. I want for this war to mean something, and go down in History as the conflict that changed things.
It doesnt matter if you liberal or conservative, what we need in this country are Real Americans: A person who loves there country, is a good honorable men, and makes decisions based on the better good, not on money or politics.
How can we ever accomplish such a complicated task?

Not by simply bashing Bush

We know you think he is the root of all evil in this country and every time you get a parking ticket it came straight from the oval office, but seriousely... the problem is bigger than him or the republican party.

Both parties have contributed a lot to the developement of this country, but simply hatred will not march us forward to our next objective, only hard work and seriouse though, as well as a little love for our country will get us there.

Don't you think?

@ bildymoo…

Personally I agree with you, dont even think this post was about how the liberals are right, however they have made some contributions to the country we have to admit. Personally I think conservatives have it pretty much all straight except for stem cell research but other than that I think the liberals and their anti-american hate speach is basicly what got us here, just my 2 cents though.

@ Aristotle

"Did you serve, or are you just lending lip service for Bush? "

No I enlisted a while ago and am in DEP because I had to have surgery so it lagged it. My brother has had 2 tours of afghanistan and 3 of Iraq.
The problem isnt that I think no one will win, its that I think they will win. Who cares about Bush, he is onyl here for another 2 years, what is our plan for if a democrat gets elected, is their only solution running away?
I pay no lip service to Bush, only to what I believe.

Seems like everyone is complaining but nobody is offering a doable solution to any of our problems. The democrats were able to win because they got everyone excited about doing nothing and the republicans stood by, as usual, and did not try and stand up for themselves and explain their positions on anything.

Alot of people blame Bush for everything since the A-Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. As President, what he can actually do is very limited. We need a candidate with some stones to stand up and get in everyones face and shut them up and "get 'er done"!

I am not a Bush fan but I am a fan of our Troops. Without them we would have no freedom and they are out there doing a job I could not do. I am sorry that so many have died to keep us free and I appreciate the job they are doing. I have friends who are over there fighting.

I think one of the greatest things about this country is the fact that you can have your opinion and voice it without fear as can I. There are not many country's in this world that has that kind of freedom. I don't know that we will ever get political offices filled with people who are just looking out for the American public better good. There will always be some that are in it for their own gain or the gains of someone that is close to them.

But I vote at every election and I serve my duty as a jurist every time I am called because without doing both I feel that you don't have a right to complain about the way the world is going.

Nope I do not agree. Bush has done a lot of good for this country. The Democrats are at fault for most all of our ills. They always will be till they can live and see the real world. Not there make believe place. Real Americians are here, we call them conservatives.

It's time for a third party, taking the good from both sides.
Owing no favors, no debts to any business or country.
A common sense party,
Each issue being debated and voted on within the party before becoming part of the party platform.
Each member not being obliged to agree with the party on all issues, but respecting others beliefs.
(I'm told dreaming is healthy)

I agree with you. I for one am tired of the Bush bashing . I was for the war when it started and I was for the war when one brother came home safe and one brother came home in a box. No matter what anyone thinks, the moral of our troops rests in Americas hands. They dont want protests, they want you to support. They want to know it isnt going to be Vietnam all over again, that they will not be spit on when they step off that plane. Support the troops no matter what side of the fence you sit on. Time to stand together . If you voted for Bush or not, support him and his efforts, be thankful he had the balls to do something when someone else would not. Dont make it easier for other countries to be critical at war time. Show them we can stand together, and we will always prevail!

You make some interesting points. Bashing Bush may not get us anywhere, but he sure sets himself up for it with his lies and deception. He led us into a war that NOBODY will win. I pray that you don't lose a loved one over there. I served during Vietnam and didn't avoid the draft. Did you serve, or are you just lending lip service for Bush?

It will happen automatically after a few more 9-11's and the American People finally realizing we are at war. Take this to the Bank, your great grand children will still be fighting Islamic Terrorists, and we will continue to fight them until they are all dead. That is the only way they can be defeated.
