I can't open the calendar or contacts or tasks or anything! It also keeps saying that it can not open my default mail folders. I've never been able to use it, even when I first bought my computer. How do I fix it??? Thanks!

Okay, I think I have to upgrade to Yahoo! Mail Plus to get my mail, is that right? If it is, how can I access the other things in Outlook (calendar, etc.) without setting up my e-mail in Outlook?

Okay - from the beginning. When I click on Outlook on my desktop it says "Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Could not open the item. Try again." I click ok, and a message says "Would you like to open your default File System folder instead?" If I say no, the whole thing closes. If I say yes, it opens and says "My Computer" on the top. When I try to add an appointment or anything a message says "Could not open the item. Try again." I hope this helps. Thank you all for your help!

Simply saying that it dont work really doesn't help us help you. If you want some help, you have to tell us exactly the symptoms.

OK - Thanks for the update. It sounds like Outlook lost track of your data file somehow. Do this: (I assume you have version 2003) Search your computer for *.pst and make a note of its location/path. Back in outlook, in the file menu, open > outlook data file. Select the pst file you found before. This should contain everything you used to have.

If you never had a pst file, or didn't find one, go to the tools menu and select options. Click the mail setup tab. Click the data files button. Click the add button and create a new pst file in your my documents folder called outlook.pst. This should become your new default mail delivery point and will also include the calendar and other outlook folders.

Edit 2: Yes, standard yahoo email cannot be accessed via outlook. You need the premium.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you have to have a license to use it. Or you have to have MS Office. Like I said, this is not a definite answer, just trying to help out.

I'm sure there will be someone else with a better answer! GOOD LUCK!
