I don't know if I look good in Kevlar. The Houston sites are will like, well you know, so what do you think?
I guess I could become a Tracy McGrady fan.

I did and I love it. Not sure what the kevlar issue is about, because the place is vary safe. In Houston, the roads are great, and everything is here for every kind of person. I live 15 miles outside of the belt, which is 8-9 miles from the city center, and my commute is typically 15-20 minutes. I would, though, advise against considering residence in North Houston, especially near the IAH airport.

The weather is beautiful (50-70 degrees F) in the Fall, Winter, and Spring with very good air, and a beautiful night sky in the country with minimal light pollution, which begins about where I live. For the Summers, I go out whenever I want, I return to AC when I start to feel hot. I don't notice the humidity at all, and I moved from the high, deserts to the low (sea-level) humid tropics.

It has lots of restaurants, culture (hispanic, asian, black, etc.), activities, huge parks, associations and clubs, etc. Home to NASA, Reliant Stadium, Rice University, The Menil Collection, etc. If you move to Houston, you will find a lot of good money opportunities in most industries, but most especially in petroleum services and space exploration.

I had family in Houston when I was a kid, we still have friends there, and I go there a couple of times a year (we live in Austin). Given a choice, I would have Houston pretty low on places I would choose to live. It is hot and humid and subject to hurricanes and flooding.

However, there are good points and I would not rule out the city without at least doing more research. There are many nicer areas to live in surrounding Houston and as a city it offers a lot to do. Including the beach and other sea related activies, museums, amusement parks, professional sports, etc. The airport is also a hub and so you can frequently get travel deals to Europe and other places. It is a relatively cheap city to live in, a nice house or apartment there will cost you a fraction of what it would cost you in many other large cities.

I know many people who have loved living there. If you are ok with the weather and living in a large city (the two things I don't like about Houston), there is no reason to rule it out as a place to live.

I say yea because Houston is a great town. And Texas is a great state. But it gets hot as hell in the summer. But just because you move there does not mean you have to switch your favorite team or basketball player.

Do you like spending hours in your car on the highway? Then go for it. Me - I'll take the lower paying San Antonio jobs and have a life!

No I wouldn't. While they are cleaning up the polution in their state. The attitude would have to get a bit farther along before I would breath in that air.
