I have started to excercise in the last month - worked myself up to 60 min of excercise a day - could that be it?

That's very unusual to begin bleeding again after a 10 year hiatus. I would go & have a check-up with your doc. Exercise shouldn't have anything to do with your hormones.
Unless, you have been underweight for 10 years & have gained weight recently & really haven't gone into menopause, this scenario is very unlikely given your age.

After 10 years of not having your period it suddenly is back? I guess exercise could do it but I doubt it. I think you need to have a check up with your gynecologist to see if your uterus is clean and healthy.

I am hoping that you've continued yearly visits to your physician for paps even though you've been postmenopausal for a while. You still need to have paps. That being said, post-menopausal bleeding needs to be addressed soon. I do not wish to instill fear, but it isn't considered normal and it's not likely related to your increased exercise. Please schedule an appointment to be seen in the next day or two. Take care.

See your doctor. I don't think it's normal for a period to reemerge after being gone so long. It may not even be your period, it could be some sort of internal injury.
