Chess it last long and it is much more of a challenge.

I usually go for a game of cards for the simple fact there are usually more then just one other friend to do stuff with, and a game of chess would be taxing to the one/s sitting out. However I can go with a game of chess when the opportunity presents itself.

cards is more fun. Chess is good if you are just one on one and have a lot of time to kill.
