Seriously, it used to be that high society women had other women to dress them. The buttons were on the opposite side to make it easier for the servant girl to dress the lady. Having your buttons on the wrong side marked you as a high society lady, so naturally all women's clothing came to be made that way.

so they can undress each over it was easier that way all them buttons an petty coats fumbling around in the dark you got to now right from left other wise you would never end up undressed at all .

yeah its the thing with the maids buttoning up the ladies shirts/jackets.

ladies are lazier.

so we dont get each others clothes mixed up cuz some womens clothes looks like it should be for men

coz you men are hopeless so when we dress or undress you the button holes are the right way around for us lol actually it stems from women having maids to dress them xx

I have never bought a coat with buttons and ladies on.How the hell would you get it on.
