If your rabbit growls or grunts at you, she's not happy about something. Maybe she's angry that you're poking your hand into her cage, and she doesn't want you in her territory. Growling can be a sign of anger, fear, uncertainty and stress. The better you get to know your bunny, the more you'll discover what her different growls mean.

My rabbit made the same sounds for the first time when I put another rabbit in there with her and she hasnt made them since I separated them.
I Googled "Rabbit barking/howl/chirp/squelching type sounds" and the only answer I found was that it is something that rabbits do when thay are sexually aroused. She has been silent since i took the other rabbit away. is your rabbit alone?

it could mean a number of things. my rabbit used to grunt when i tried to put my hand in his hutch because i was invading his territory. getting a rabbit neutered/spayed can help with the horomones and reduce this behaviour. my bun has calmed down alot since he was done and is a different bun all together. if your bun is a single bun he could be lonely. but sometimes constant grunting could also mean he could be in pain so if it is constant and u notice any other signs get bunny to a vets asap

I have had two rabbits and unlucky for me they have both ended up psycho rabbits! They growl at me and attack me i think cos they were both boys and once they start puberty they go nuts!! Once you get their balls chopped they start to calm down and you notice the difference otherwise you will not be able to handle them xx

IT could be a warning or most likley you've upset he/she and you haven't realised it. If she is turning her back to you she's angry with you and you need to apoligise, i know it sounds foolish but you need to snuggle he/she and give them a treat llike a carrot and show he/her that you care :D If he/she is pouncing on your hand he/she is playing! :P
