Just had my ipod stolen from my gym changing rooms while I was in the shower. Its a 4gb nano. Is there anyway i can block it from being used or do anything, as it has a code or serial numbe ron the back of it. Thanks

I too had a iPod stolen this past year. It was a 60gb video version bought directly from Apple. I called Apple to inquire about about tracking it when it synced etc, and was told that they don't monitor that information. I was also told that they don't track the serial number with the purchasers either. The only option is to contact the police and provide the serial number to them and you may get lucky if it turns up at a pawn shop, but in reality you will find that it is probably gone forever. Sorry about that, I have been there too. Good luck.

Not much you can do about it. Notify the police of the serial number. I had a radio returned when someone tried to pawn it. I wish there was a way to register it with Apple to catch people who try to have one repaired.

There is a service called GadgetTrak that would allow you to track the device when it is connected to a computer. But you have to have the software installed on the device before it is stolen:

yes it does have a serial number but unlike a mobile phone it doesnt have a signal that can be traced and blocked

Notify EVERYONE about the serial #. And I mean EVERYONE. One time, My teacher found it.
