I'm writing an article for school about smoking bans, and I have some questions. I would appreciate if I get some answers, and DETAILS PLEASE!

1) Which foreign places have banned smoking? Only indoors or completely?
2) Which states or places in the USA have banned smoking in some areas?
3) (Opinion) Do you think banning cigarettes, whether it be indoors or in all places, is a good idea? Why or why not?

2. Ca. NY. PA. OH. CO. TX. are the ones I know for sure have at least some places banned.

3. No. The reason being that the choice should be left to the business owners. The government, whether federal, state, or local really has no right to stick their noses into it. It's like prohibition "lite".

Smoking was banned in San Antonio,TX restaurants, but thank God it's still okay to smoke in bars!!!

They also banned smoking on campus at the community collages here.

2. I believe Belmont, CA (sf bay area) has the strictest laws in the country, might want to research them.
