I would suggest English, literature, doing school plays, stage crew and history would also be very useful. Acting classes if your high school has them and music courses, vocal, reading music and perhaps playing an instrument.

I would suggest doing the regular high school curriculum and also auditioning for plays at your local community theatre. You'll be able to learn all of the basics there and you'll gain valuable performing experience.

It would also be a good idea to join your school's drama club. If they don't have one, speak with your favorite teacher about forming one.

Once you feel comfortable on stage, find out if there are any local colleges or summer stock theaters in your area that need young performers to play children. This is another good way to get early stage experience.

Study English, History, Vocal Music, Dance (if that's available). Learn to play the piano, if you can, and to read music. Much of an actor's livelihood these days comes from doing musicals.

Learn how to use language! Language is very, very, very important.

Public Speaking would help a bunch also think about the skills or talents that you may need. Play a sport, musical instrument, dance (that is always a huge plus).
