in a box of 12 choclates,n have toffee centres. write a forula to show how many chocolate are not toffee centred.help me please!

12 is the total number of chocolate, n is the number that represents the toffee centres. What we want to find is the number of non toffee centred that we will call x.
So the formula is the following one :

12 - n = x

Then you find the formula, you will have to give a value to the x... but this is another exercise !

let X be the number of Chocolates with no toffee.

12 - n = x

Also

n + x = 12

n have toffee centres therefore 12-n do not!
So lets call the ones who do not have toffee centres x!
Therefore x(non toffee centres) = 12 - n(toffee centres)
So x = 12 - n

It might help to have the whole word - sine only '10' ends with n then I'll say that's what you have.

T=12-10 ??
