Yes, each new Executive when they come into office usually clears out the old, but not at the end of their term when their administration is in hot water for terrible things......

I agree with you! Our tax dollars at work. Why do you think Bush wants to sell our ports? Money i his pocket! The vice-president is even worse. They will leave office as multimillionaires while you and I will foot the bill. Cut VA hospital spending. They only think of themselves not the electorate. That is why I am in favor of second amendment rights. Once the American people give up the right to keep and bear arms we will become subjects, not citizens!!!

This is a political fishing expedition, not a trial. There is, so far, no reason to suppose a law has been broken. How would it be if the authorities could question you under oath without having any reasonable suspicion of a crime being committed? Our legal system doesn't work that way.
It would set a bad precedent if, every time one political party wants to make gains, it can demand that anybody they choose has to answer all kinds of questions under oath, just in case they might find something wrong.

Because they can.
How was it OK for 93 to be fired under Clinton? That was politcally motivated, too. Nary a word about it. But Bush fires 8 and its a huuuuuuge freakin' deal?
Unbelieveable.

It's called executive privilage. It has to do with seperation of powers. That is in an obscure document called the US Constitution.
