want a newish golf but only really need a 1.4 but also want a diesel. anyone know if i'm looking for something that doesn't exist?!!

I dont think theres such thing as a 1.4 diesel but I have a lovely golf convertable for sale.

The current Golf diesels are 1.9 and 2.0 litres.
The previous two generations (1992-2004) were all 1.9-litres, while the first two generations were 1.6-litres (1975-1992).
There has never been a production 1.4-litre diesel Golf.
VW do make a 1.4-litre diesel engine - it is fitted to the Polo, the Fox, the Seat Ibiza and Cordoba, and the Skoda Fabia, and was also fitted in the (now discontinued) VW Lupo, Seat Arosa and Audi A2.

i work for vw, there i s no such thing as a 1.4 diesel but as stated above there is a 1.4 petrol.
the only 1.4 vw diesel is the pd engine in the lupo and polo.
oh,..... the new mk5 golf gt is a 1.4 with supercharger and turbo so quick as **** but im sure thats a petrol too.

You can check existence of such a model on the official VW site. But I doubted: 1.4 petrol -yes, diesel - never crossed my way

a friend recently was after a 1.6 diesel and she could only find diesels 1.9 and upwards.
Try ebay, your local newspapers & garages!
