Here's an interesting golliwog link http://www.sterlingtimes.co.uk/golliwog.htm this shop could be helpful to you http://www.golliwogg.co.uk/shop.htm there's some funky knitting patterns here too http://weirdbabe.typepad.com/threadbared/2005/05/golliblog.html. There is a lot of anti-golly feeling so it may be that you would need to use a standard doll pattern and simply alter the colours of the materials to suit your requirements. I had a golliwog and loved him dearly. It's a shame that the golly has been turned into a symbol of racism, my love of my golly was certainly no display of racism. In the same vein perhaps Barbie should be banned as it is racist towards white women suggesting that they are all grotesque and have unbendy legs.........

Try doing a search for "mammy doll"
I think that's what you are referring to... that's what they are called in the US. I did a quick search but didn't see any free downloads. But if you have more patience than I do you might find one.

Edit: There are some for sale on ebay. And I did find this one. I searched "free mammy doll pattern"

OK I'm wondering what the heck a golliwog is and why would this be against the law. I think I'm gonna have to post it as a question. .. what do you think?

Careful. Would you like to amend your question and omit the G******* as it is now against the law to use this word.
