I keep bending and losing my earrings ("real" gold but nothing of exceptional quality, but none the less, it's not cheap to keep buying them) so I have been thinking of buying some gold filled earrings after reading that there is real gold on the outside and they say they can last you for awhile if you take care of them. Do they really hold up well or fade quickly like gold tone or plated gold? I'd rather save my money to buy some "real" gold earrings if the filled ones are no better the fake earrings I remember wearing as a kid. Thanks.

I've gotten fake gold earrings w/ 14K gold posts (nickel free) and they've been fine. Nordstrom's and Monet make good ones. They hold up pretty well (about 3 years w/ daily wear).
I prefer them for every day because I hate loosing earrings too.

www.whispers.com is worth checking out for costume jewelry.

www.bluenile.com has real gold earrings @ very good prices (good quality, excellent customer service).
