I have a lot of stress at work. I work 40 plus a week and there is alot of times which I cant sleep at night just thinking about what I have or have not done a work. And not only that I work in a cabinetry shop so everytime I go out the office I smell all the saw dust and a lot of time funiture lacore, and once in a while I get to smell paint since there is a spray booth next to the office. Does all this affect me and my baby?

First of all the stress level should be kept at a minimal level as possible. It's not healthy for you or your baby to be stressed out all the time. And as for the stuff being sprayed around the office all the time is not good only if you are taking it in all the time. When I was pregnant I worked at a motel and I had to use cleaner all the time, dusting, cleaning showers and stuff like that.As long as your not inhaling it a lot it shouldn't be that bad.But just to be sure it won't cause any kind of damage you should ask your doctor. And remember there is no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to the health of your baby.

Most paints these days are lead free so it should not be a problem for the baby. Mercury is a problem and some paints have it. That needs to be avoided. I really do not have alot of info on laquers. I think the smell poses a problem for you because it can cause you to have breathing problems and even pass out. Doesnt sound like a great enviorment for you. Unless they can ventilate it better. Its not too easy to just say get another job because I know finding work when pregnant is hard and you need a steady income. I would ask you doctor and see what advice they can give you

It can. Even if you don't have enough contact with all of that stuff to physically hurt the fetus, your stress alone affects the baby. Your baby knows when your happy, sad, mad, stressed, and all the other emotions. Stress when your pregnant is going to have a big influence on how your baby's temperament turns out to be. When their in the womb, everything you do, eat, breath, or feel goes to your baby. If you can feel the stress, your baby can feel it. So, even if it doesn't affect it physically, it will affect your baby emotionally, even in the long run when their older.

u are not alone.
im 4 mos too and i worry about the same thing. I try not to stress about my job but im afraid to slip up and get fired cuz i know they would be happy to let me go instead of pay maternity leave.
i havent even told anyone im pregnant at work im hiding it for the exact same reason.
legally they cant fire you after i think 30 days before ur scheduled leave date but we have a long time till then dont we!!!
make lists to keep everything straight and take breaks and get fresh air. leave work at work dont let it follow you home. i dont even answer the phone for my job when they call my cell. i'll deal with them on their time not mine!

To be on the safe side, you should wear one of those plastic masks, or the small masks that doctors wear to cover your mouth and nose. I think that if you are around all that stuff too much its not good for the baby....you should lessen work and keep it to the minimum because stress is not good for the baby... and also your boss should know that you are pregnant and be more leniant on you...wish you the best of luck...and dont work too hard...get as much rest as you can b4 the baby comes!

Call your doctor. That's what we pay them for. I don't think you'll need to do something as drastic as quit your job, but if that's what the doctor recommends, you may be able to take a paid medical leave because it is for a medical issue.

Yes, everything you smell affects your unborn child. Please make sure you are getting regular prenatal visits and taking prenatal vitamins. It also might be a good time to start thinking about quitting your job and starting a new one that is less stressful. Stress can be harmful to your fetus, not to mention all the fumes you inhale daily. Please think about your unborn child and make sure you are taking the best care of yourself so you give birth to a healthy child.
