You should wait until your six week post natal check, everything has to heal, especially if you have had stitches.
Wait until you feel ready. There is no law saying that you will feel like it after the six weeks have passed.

The average "recovery" time is 6 weeks. This is how long it takes your uterus to shrink back down to it's normal size.

You don't want to have sex before the 6 week mark because up until that time, your cervix is still open. If any sort of bacteria is introduced into your body from your husband you can get a very bad infection in your uterus!! Best to wait the 6 weeks and then you have nothing to worry about!

As far as a TOTAL recovery...it varies from woman to woman. It took me a few months before I could go for a slow jog without feeling like I was gong to die lol

It took me a couple of weeks to recover a bit, and about the same time before my husband and I had sex again. When in doubt, wait. :D

Good luck and have a great day!

well they say you should wait at least 6 weeks until you can have sex. but i dont know about your hubby but mine cant wait that long. he was asking me like a week after so he suffered at little bit. we had sex i think 3 weeks after and he was careful so it was ok. just be careful. and were protection because you are very fertile AFTER YOU HAVE A BABY. my boss got pregnant in her 6 week period after she had a baby and got pregnant so she has 2 babies born in the same year.

My OB said wait two weeks but I had a c-section. He also stressed using contraception even though I'm breastfeeding. We ended up waiting three weeks at which point I'd stopped bleeding.
