I have asked this already many times but I am not finding an answer I like. My brother and I are doing a slideshow for my mother for mother's day. It shows us growing up. We need a song for it though. We have Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion but we need another one. No rock or rap or anything like that please. And also many people suggested songs like In my daughter's eyes by Martina McBride. That doesn't work becasue it is from the both of us so the song has to sound like that. I want the song to say something like thank you for being there, we love you, we appreciate you, or you taught us well. Please help I want this to be the best present she has ever gotten. Thanks!

We also chose, Somebody's Hero. Please we need one more! Thanks for all those that have suggested earlier.

How about one of the nicest songs-you raise me up from Josh Groban. I really love the words to this song!

Josh Groban Lyrics
You Raise Me Up
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.

Thank You For Being A Friend - Andrew Gold

Sometimes the point is missed that she's not just a good mother but the best friend you have as well.

"You Raised Me Up" by Josh Groban or "I Hope You Dance" by Leann Womack...she wrote the song for her children

Lee Ann Womack
I Hope You Dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

Dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance..
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone

A Song For Mama--Boys II Men

You taught me everything
And everything you've given me
I'll always keep it inside
You're the driving force in my life, yeah

There isn't anything
Or anyone that I could be
And it just wouldn't feel right
If I didn't have you by my side

ohh You were there for me to love and care for me
When skies were grey
Whenever I was down
You were always there to comfort me
And no one else can be what you have been to me
You will always be
You will always be the girl in my life for all times

*Chorus*
Mama, mama you know I love you
Ooh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars (yes it is)
Mama, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Yes it is, yes it is (ooh), yes it is, yes it is, yes it is

You're always down for me
Have always been around for me even when I was bad
You showed me right from my wrong (yes you did)
And you took up for me
When everyone was downin' me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on

There was so many times
Looking back when I was so afraid
And then you'd come to me
And say to me I could face anything
And no one else can do
What you have done for me
You'll always be
You will always be the girl in my life (ooh)

*Chorus*
Mama, mama you know I love you
you know i love you (2x)
Ooh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars (yes it is)
Mama, I just want you to know
Mama i just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul

*Bridge*
Never gonna go a day without you
Fills me up just thinking about you
Could never go a day without my mama

*Chorus*
mama you know I love you
Ooh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Ooh, yeah yeah
You are the food to my soul
Yes you are, oh
