What you need to use on the beach is a high SPF sunscreen to prevent skin cancer down the road.

well, i would only recommend this if you are a serious, experienced tanner...buy some of the "tingle" tanning lotion normally used for indoor tanning...that`s what i use for indoor and outdoor tanning, it`s just the best...u will get super dark!!! i`ve been using these kind of lotions for 5+ years & i always get compliments on how dark i am...one caution though, u should at least have a base tan 1st before trying the tingle stuff, otherwise you will probably end up fried to a crisp!!! they work well & work fast...also they tend to be a bit expensive ($20+) a bottle...

If you're planning to be out in the sun at lot. Don't worry about getting a tan. Worry about getting burnt! Wear high power sunscreen.
Then just let the sun work it's magic.
Remember-- just because you're wearing sunsceen, doesn't mean you can't tan.
IF you're looking for an instant tan.. get it from a bottle. A spray bottle--They apply more evenly.

You just lay on the beach and get tanned. Limit your time in the sun. You may want to wear suntan lotion of NSF 10 to 15.

Depends on how your skin tans, if you burn easily use a lotion with spf 30 or higher, if you're a good tanner then use some oil like Banana Boat in the brown bottle

My absolute favorite thing is Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil, it's cheap and it leaves you sooooo dark.

But seriously, don't tan, you'll thank yourself later when you don't have many wrinkles and don't have skin cancer.
