Just saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is so hackneyed and trite, but it is STILL an inescapable truth. Personally, I would rate my own looks as "mid-range", but I have been called both "beautiful" AND "ugly".
On one job I once had the boss of another department say to my boss, "Why did you do that to yourself - you could have hired a PRETTY girl instead of her!"
That same man was also reputed to have said about me, "Some people should wear a bag over their head, but SHE should wear a HEFTY garbage bag!"
Yet, I have had comments from other guys like "Damn, you're a good-looking woman!"
"Hell, Sweetie, for a woman OUR age (I'm 62) you're GORGEOUS!"
And my favorite - "I love you for the beautiful work of art you are - inside and outside." (That one was from my fiance.)
Every day of my life I see women far uglier than me who have devoted mates and women far more beautiful who are miserably alone.
Did you see the movie "BACK TO THE FUTURE"? It is certainly not a crowning achievement of classic movie-making, but it is a silly, enjoyable bit of escapist fun.
I am pointing it out to you, however, because there is one character - the young hero's older sister - who starts off looking like something even the cat wouldn't drag in, and complaining bitterly about her total lack of a social life. After the hero goes back in time and changes some things about his family life, we see her again as an attractive girl pursued by multiple suitors. Yet, the character is portrayed by the SAME actress and the facial make-up is not all that noticeably different.
The difference comes in her attitude. In the latter scenario, she is well-groomed, dresses in flattering (and well-matched) clothing, carries herself with confidence and flair and projects a positive attitude.
Whether you have already seen it or not, rent it and see it again - just to watch for this transformation.

You THINK your are ugly. CONFIDENCE!!!That's your opinion, but that special person thinks that you are the most beautiful person in the world. Who gives a **** what others think. What's important is what you think of yourself. People feel that way, with confidence and time, you will see the true beauty that's in you.
