I have a truck and dont want to change the stock wheels that already have oversized wide tires but the the rim width does not allow them to stick out a little more to what i would like, i want them to stick out at least an inch more. Is there anything i can put that will safely allow me to do so?

You cannot use spacers because the lug stud length is insufficient. Also the type that convert one bolt circle to another would require the use of different wheels. I would suggest the purchase of inexpensive steel spoke rims as the best alternative. You have a choice of widths and offsets to get the "look" you want. They can be had for about $50.00 a wheel in most auto parts centers.

In regards to the other answers you have recieved, remember that NO matter what you decied to do, if the tire stick out farther then the wheel well, the tires with through anyhting you run over into the side of the truck, I owned a 96 Chevy Silverado with very large rims and tires, the tires stuck out about 2 1/2 inches from the wheel wells, As soon as i did this i went to my local auto acc. retailer and bought a piece of film that sticks to the fender and matches the trucks paint code. you wont notice the difference in paint, and you appreciate this at a later date,

Good luck

Also remember that by moving the wheels outward you are changing the suspension geometry and the vehicle may handle differently and lower the lifespan of some parts; wheel bearings for example.

Forget trying to cobble something together to get the look you want. Only safe way to do it is with aftermarket rims and different backspacing/width.
