Just picking the favorites:
Colorado: At Edmonton (W), at Vancouver (L), vs. Vancouver (W), at Phoenix (W), vs. Minnesota (W), at Calgary (L), at Van (L), vs. Nashville (L), vs. Calgary (W)
Throw in an OT loss to finish the season 5-3-1
Calgary: vs. Nashville (L), at Chicago (W), at Minnesota twice (2L), at Vancouver (L), vs. Colorado (W), at San Jose (L), vs. Edmonton (W), at Colorado (L)
Throw in two OT lossed to finish the season 3-4-2. Why two? Because they average two OT losses out of every seven total losses. They finish their last nine with six losses, so two out of six is the closest I could come. Colorado only gets one more OT loss because they only have 3 more losses left.
Calgary finishes with 94 points. Colorado with 93.
If only it was actually that easy to predict.

Calgary's next game is against their arch rivals, the Edmonton Oilers, on Saturday night. Now, although the deficit is only 3 points for Colorado to make up with like 2 games remaining, one on Sunday against each other, this match up for Calgary on Saturday night can be the one that gets them into the playoffs. Edmonton has won only one or two games since the Trade Deadline deal of Ryan Smyth, getting shutout in their last two games, both of which were against Minnesota, a team currently in the playoffs. Minnesota is a team that plays a little better in their own end than Calgary does right now, but Calgary can score at will more than they have been able to the last couple of seasons, so Edmonton will have much trouble in their own end on Saturday night. I believe the game is also in Calgary, which gives them a huge edge since they have the best home record in the NHL. Calgary has the front door wide open going into Saturday nights game against Edmonton to make the playoffs. All they have to do now is walk through it. I expect the Flames to make the playoffs over the Avs this year.

the avs have great momentum and have been hot both on the road and home. With scorers like sakic, stasny and hedjuk and a solid backstop of budaj who is playing above his usual level i think they can make it for sure. Calgary is floundering and is caving under the pressure of colorados success. They were sitting on a lead of 8 points or more for much of the month of january and are now panicing that colorado is catching up. We wouldnt even be having this question a month ago but Calgary has been one of the worst road teams this year and are only in it because of a stellar home game. If Kipper doesnt get back to form of his previous >2.00 GAA avg hes had in previous years, they will not make it. I predict that the difference either way will be only 2 points.

Depends on Kippersoff and Suter. Modern Calgary flames are all about winning 2-0. (1 goal 5 on 4 from iginla or Phaneuf, 1 from an empty net). Theyre basically the devils of the West. If they can play their game the flames can hold on, but COL looks determined and arent quitting (came from behind to be SJ 3-1 > 4-3 the other day). Its calgary's to F up.

It is definatley possible, the aves are playing great hockey but honestly with only a few games left I think that calgary will hold on. They will probably split the two left between them and calgary will win by only a point or two. But for the record I am rooting for the aves because I think that the only team that could stop the wild in the playoffs is calgary who always seems to have our number.

Theoretically they can but with so few games left, it will be next to impossible. Calgary is actually a very good team that happened to hit a slump at a wrong time, but they beat Detroit the other day. Colorado is as hot as they could possibly be but they have three games against Vancouver (who are 28-5-5 in the last 38 games) as well as Nashville and of course two crucial ones with Calgary. They would need to sweep both of those games against Calgary and probably win at least 3 of the 5 games against Vancouver, Nashville and Minnesota.

Last game of season Avs host Flames. May be huge. Flames need to pull up their socks and tighten their laces cuz somethings gaining on them. Weren't the Avs like 16 back of playoff spot at one time? Budaj has given them hope. Theodore was a total bust.

I think the Avs will make it. They are on a hot streak right now. Calgary is letting it slip. Avs already made up almost all of a double digit trail to catch calgary.
GO AVS!!!!!

As an Oiler's fan, there is nothing more I would like to see then the Calgary Flames go down with us. And to top it off, it would be in such dramatic fashion. Flamers will be left scratching their heads as to how they blew a 10 point lead. Hahaha.
Go Avs Go!!!!

No. Kipper is too good I think. He'll steal them a few points meaning that Colorado would pretty much have to win out. Atleast they are making it interesting. Although, I don't think Calgary has a game in hand so maybe.

Depends on head to head, that would be awesome if it came down to the last game wouldn't it?
They definitely have a chance, but they are going up hill for sure. I think it depends on their D and goaltending since they have been a scoring powerhouse.
The thing they have going for them is that most of Calgary's games are on the road where they have been questionable and not at home where they have been juggernauts.
