1975 Chevy Impala it was a boat. When my dad got laid off from Chrysler back in the 80's he picked up a job as a security guard working way to many hours. During that time we had brand new used cars. When he finally got back the Impala was our family car and my dad felt bad for not being able to get me a lot of things as a kid while being laid off he gave me the car. I loved that car. So no I didnt have to work for my first car like many but, dont think because I didnt that I did not appreciate it. Peace out...................

In 1957 I bought a 1948 Chevy business coupe for $175 that I earned at work. The insurance cost me $500 for the year.

A brand new 1988 Fiero, my parents financed it for me when I was 15 and working after school at the Dairy Queen. I made about $60 a week, so it took all my money to make the payments.

It was a 1971 pea green Mercury Montego. It was a massive boat that cost 50 bucks to fill up (before the gas price hike), and then it was all gone in a week. Plus it took a week to turn a corner. My mom got it for my sister, and after two years she handed it down to me. I kept it for five years, then tried to sell it. Nobody bought it, so we gave it to the Boys & Girls Clubs as a donation and a write off. My parents didn't communicate to each other and no one got to write it off. I'll always love and hate that car, as long as I live.

My first car was a cutlass 442. I got it from my older brother for 200 bucks. And I still have it today. That was the best car I ever spent money on. I like the 442 better than the 300E i have.

I have only had one car actually in my name since I started driving 43 years ago and that was a 1964 dark green Chevrolet Covair. It was in 1971. I loved that little car! Our financial guy, Brian, says it is better to have all of our cars in my husband's name. Today I drive a 2006 Ford Fusion that is really mine and i LOVE it!!!

My first car was a '91 Ford Escort Pony, and it was a hand me down from my sister who is 13 months older than I am. Mind you, she got to pick it out off the lot before she even had her permit....

well i got it back in 1986 and it was a 76 blue monte carlo that i got from my ex-husband in excahnge for his crappy 76 impala he wanted back...my first brand new with payments car was a 1992 ford tempo...got rid ogf that for a t-bird,then i got a ford explorer sport and once the kid came i needed 4 doors so i have a paid off 2003 explorer
