I got a pap smear last month, around Feb 13th or so. I've yet to get my results.

SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT IT? I'm kind of scared that they found something abnormal but then again, wouldn't they tell me right away if something wasn't right?

I have had abnormal paps for years, and I have HPV. Honestly, there is no reason to worry. Worrying will not make it go away. Just be responsible and do all of the follow-up exams that your doc reccomends. That is all you can do. Worrying will just cause unnescessary stress, and not doing follow-ups will put you at higher risk for cervical cancer. So just suck it up and do what you need to do, and you will be just fine.

My doctor calls me if something is wrong or they send me a postcard in the mail saying something to the effect of "the results of your last lab test were normal" if there is nothing wrong. It usually takes about 2 weeks to get the card though.

In your case, it has been over a month. Call your doctor's office and ask what the results were. You'll have to wait on hold for a loooooong time, but they should be able to get you an answer.

More than likely, if something were wrong, you would have been contacted by now.

Don't Worry , you are doing the right thing . Many women have yeast infections and sometimes more serious infections . If there is any problem , your doctor will prescribe an appropriate medicine or antibiotic . Perhaps your boyfriend should be checked out too , that he is not transmitting an infection to you . Do you wear rather tight nylon underwear or tight Jeans . A lack of air in your genital region can cause fungal infections .

They would let you know immediately if there was a problem. Many doctor offices only call with results if there is an abnormality. That is my doc's procedure now. I think it cuts out work for them. It kinda sucks, because you might end up freaking out since you don't know the results. Just give them a call to make sure.

usually the doctors office will mail you a card i the mail if results were nornal. if they were abnormal they would still mail a card but put a note on the card for you to give them a call. sometimes the card can get lost in the mail. i would give teh office a call and talk to the nurse, just to be on the safe side.

When i go for mine Pap they usually give me a number to call for the results. Do you recall them giving you something with a number on it?
Or call the office.

Call the lab or your doctor to find out if the results are in yet. It usually takes a while to get your results.

One don't worry!
Two you can call them to see if the test has come back yet, mine have been known to get lost, or they have forgotten to call... (they are really good just busy) If I call them they make sure I get the answers I need.
If it was something serious you would have an answer already! trust me had dysplasia and they called within a week! (of course mine was flagged for risk)

Just call them and find out whats going on... it is probably nothing to get yourself worked up over.

Contact your doctor's office. My thinking is that they would have called you if your results came back abnormal.

Maybe there is something weird going on. I had mine around the same time, and I haven't gotten my results back either.

Hi, I wouldn't wait for the Dr. to call. You have the right to know the results of your test, so you can have peace of mind. Good luck.
