I was browsing a German company's website that was affiliated with the American company I work for. And noticed that it stated that their "female" customer service staff would answer any questions between 8a-4pm ...I was like WTF!!?LOL I also visited Brandenburg I also observed several outright and somewhat belittling references to women. that were published or on websites...Is it cultural or what? I know that some american men can be misogynists, but I don't think I've ever read something like this for a job posting.. I'ts like "Hey women are obviously too stupid to work with men so we need to separate you from the rest of us"...confused need insight...somebody enlighten me.

Well In my business I travel alot and I think that its important to know the general culture of the Countries you are visiting...Sorry I am not trying to resolve any global issues right now, just wanting to get someinsight on the countries culture. If I am going to be working alongside men of this country I think it's my business and to know what behaviours I will be dealing with.

Oh god.. have we not learned to keep our nose out of other countries business? We have enough problems of our own... why as a country do we insist on solving everyone elses problems when we arent even willing to see our own?

You know... part of the reason why the rest of the world hates us so much is because we try to impose OUR morality (like we are oh so moral and right) onto everyone else. Just like Iraq... we are trying to impose OUR way of life on a culture that just doesnt understand it... what we expect is completely alien to them... they will NOT change overnight and adopt to our way of being... if history has shown anything, its that cultures dont change overnight... it takes CENTURIES of rule by a foreighn power to inherently change that cultures base, and to impose theirs over top of it.

Quit worrying about what Germany does, or anyone else for that matter... you live here... you fly there do business and leave... YOU are the guest... so respect their culture even if you dont personally care for it.

Could you give me the link ? Maybe they just wanted to point out that they employ women too. Or whoever did the site had bad english. I never noticed something like that. Could you post the links please ? If anything Germans have a fine tuned bullshit detector for the most part they all agree in equality and the men here will speak up pronto if somebody gets more equal than somebody else.
With that said the misogynie in that side is soley based on your interpretation of what you read.
Mastermo did it ever occur to you that German culture is a fundamental part of American culture toegether with some other European cultures, even if you pronounce names like Peter Frank and Stephan differently ?

Not really.

I was born and raised in Germany and moved to the US five years ago. I did not notice much of a difference in the way I'm and was treated by men in both countries. Meaning, most men I met so far in both countries treated me respectfully, and I had the misfortune to meet a few misogynist jerks in both countries as well.

The male population of the entire world is misogynistic. That is why we live in a patriarchy where men are often mistaken for being better then women, rather than both genders being seen as equal in value.

1) This is just one website.
2) You get offeneded way too easily.
3) Do you not think the female population of America is somewhat misandist?

EDIT @ Poster

Point #2 & 3 still stand.
