My network connection (LAN) is slow. so how do i speed up how many packets it sends and receives. My computer only send and receives about 2,000 to 2,500 packets. but when i look at the other computer it's more than 2,000,0000 packets. why is mine so slow but the other so fast? thanx in advance. i generally only use it to play StarCraft (MultiPlayer) and it's really laggy.

maybe you are far from your ISP. Ask them if they can up your speeds. Sometimes because you are far, they have to lower your speed to give you a constant connection.

Few things to check when you are having LAN connection problem:
- make sure the network cable is in best condition (not too long, not broken, etc)
- make sure your network card/port is working fine, such as no dust on the network cable and son on.
- Check your network card speed. Old network card is only 10Mbps, later one is 100Mbps, the latest is 1Gbps.
- Check no other software using the network connection

try this trick:

click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc in the box, then hit Enter. Click the + on the top Administrative Template (under Computer Configuration group), then click the + on Network, click on QoS (not the + this time), on the right box, double click the Limit Reservable Bandwidth, click Enable, change the 20% to 0%, click OK to save, close the windows, restart your computer. Your computer should be fast now.

It ultimately depends upon which type of internet connection you have. If you have dial up or DSL then you will probably experience a slower connection then with a cable connection.
There really isn't anything you can do from your computers standpoint. Try upgrading to a better internet connection.

Best Wishes!
