Silk is more of a wind-breaker than anything else, but I would agree that wool is able to trap in warmth a lot better then silk.

Silk is ok but not the warmest...I wear my silkies all the time...jammy pants..lol
Wool is itchy and heavier. It's bulky and you can't move as freely. Depends on what you want it for. Just a walk I don't see why silk wouldn't work..if you're spending time outside for a long time then go with wool. Yuck...

i believe wool can be warmer. Silk, however, makes me sweat and feels hot too.

no contest it,s wool because silk is lighter and wool is more heavy and it,s way cheaper.
