Since John Edwards has made his wife's illness public?

Will Bill Clinton come down with some strange disease so Hillary can try to cash in on the sympathy vote?

I think it is sad that his wife is sick (so don't say I am unsympathetic) , but every time one of her opponents does something, like Obama going to Selma…she has tried to match or one up them…

It is sad that his wife's cancer has come back, and I will pray for her...but Hilary will try anything to get elected...I can hear her now, "Damn it Bill, you need to go to the doctor and get him to say something is wrong with you, or I will hit you with my broom again..." to which Bill will reply, "OK, Hilary baby, just keep the Flying Monkeys away from me..."

The announcment today regarding mrs Edwards health is certainly unfortunate.
Regardless of political affiliation, we all are prone to illnesses that effect ourselves and our loved ones.
It does, however, strike me as more than strange that this was handled the way it was.
Why not just release a statement?
After all, Mrs Edwards is not running for anything.
A more cynical man than myself might wonder aloud if this was simply an opportunity to remind voters that he is still here - lets fact it, Obama and Hillary have been using up all the oxygen in the democratic primary. Edwards was the forgotten man until this morning.
Mrs Edwards' relapse is tragic, and my prayers go out to her.
But I certainly hope her misfortune was not exploited for political gain.
