I was on Ortho-tri-cyclen had similar side-effects (weight gain, sore breasts, bad taste in my mouth) but mine also included feeling nauseous.
I then went on the Nuva Ring and started to get migraines right before my cycle that got so bad I had to stop.
I stopped taking birth control because it started to effect me badly.

I'm on Ortho Tri Cyclene Lo (lower dose of hormones) and I had some minor cramps when I first started them, but I've been on them for like 5 years now and I never have any side effects anymore. Oh and I lost weight when I started on the pill.

Amanda, I was on pills some time ago (forgot the name) and took me a while to find out the were the cause of my gastritis and my untolerance to contact lenses.
Be careful with the Jazmin pill. A friend of mind had a brain clog that sent her to intensive care. After this incident, I found an article that confirmed my friend problems. She dropped the pills and started a new life.
Read the instructions that come with the pills. We normally don't do it, but that could solve your problems.

Good Luck!!!

my OBGYN just put me on the Loestrin 24 Fe pill 2 months ago. my periods now last for 2-3 days. it's wonderful! i haven't experienced any side effects either. Before that I was on a generic brand, which did cause some side effects such as a heavy period, cramps, acne breakouts, and breast tenderness. all of these side effects are completely gone now that i've switched to Loestrin.
