What is done in a normal organic chemistry class?
Is it like general chemistry: where there is alot of math and a few definitions you have to memorize.
Or is it mostly memorization

I Have taken all of chemistry and organic, over the last two years, and everything depends. Organic chemistry is harder, that is true, however, organic chemistry is less math, not so many formulas. I like organic chemistry better, because i prefer less math, but it is harder. There is memorization however, of different mechanisms for reaction, how molecules attach to others, but you learn a lot of fun things. There is memorization, but few definitions, and even less math.

you better bring your A game and not screw around ..you want an A then you have to work for it...meaning read chp. before going to class..that way you have an idea what its about ..then ask questions about stuff u dont understand in lecture or after if you are shy in front of people, then grab a hold of old actual tests they can be helpful (ask OCHEM 2 students about them) and also do the homework problems and when you learn concepts dont memorize...just work the reactions over and over again until you know them really know them.. and the week before test just review.and then you wont be like your peers who cram until the minute before the test....
you will be relaxed confident that you put in two or three weeks of solid work..and you are going to do well...keep it fun...you are in college and this class wont break you..but it will mess you up if u make an F...

Organic chemistry has almost no math. You'll learn how to name organic compounds and how reactions between organic compounds work.
